Café Culture at Club Obiwan
Coffee is one of the world's most popular beverages and every real coffee lover will agree that coffee has its own culture therefore making it special among other stimulants. Its energising quality combined with the richness of its aroma and the associated atmosphere of relaxation add to its sensory pleasure. Drinking a fine, distinctive cup of coffee is a ritual of reassurance, a celebration of a break in routine, a gesture of togetherness and hospitality, promoting well-being and a mood of contemplation. Coffee time is that time of the day to sort through your thoughts, relax, just stare into space, read a newspaper or simply be together. At Club Obiwan we devote ourselves to promote a coffee lover's ultimate paradise: a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere in an old industrial building set between the enchanting Hutongs and overlooking the waters of Xihai lakeside. A place where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, just gazing out of the window, watching people walk by, devouring a page-turner, enjoying your friends' company and the finest of Italian coffee blends.

The Art of Coffee Making- why coffee doesn't equal coffee
At Club Obiwan you don't just simply get a coffee, you get the real deal: espresso. Espresso is not only a special way of making coffee, it rather is an entire coffee cuisine. Espresso distinguishes itself from other coffee types in all fundamental aspects of its production, from its specific blending approaches, to its roasting and grinding and finally its brewing. Offering three high-quality Italian coffee blends, imported from Haiti coffee roasters in Rome, Italy, it is especially the whole coffee bean that promotes freshness through grinding and brewing the coffee at demand rather than brewing a pot from pre-ground coffee which sits until it is served. The coffee beans of the selected Espresso types, Gran Riserva, Golden Class and Pridom, differ in their aroma, intensity and fragrance according to their distinctive blends and roasting methods which satisfy the connoisseur's gustatory preferences with world class performance. The high quality of the espresso products and of their performance can be attributed to the coffee roasters artisan tradition, the experience and the passion of the "maestro roasters" and their ongoing research to create the finest blends.
To ensure that the beans can perform at their best, they are freshly grinded and brewed by one of the finest traditional espresso machines, the Fiorenzato Ducale. The various espresso beverages are mostly composed of the same and quite simple ingredients: espresso coffee and milk. But as with any cuisine it is especially the simple ingredients that demand attentive precision to deliver/become a really sophisticated composure and therefore turning the simple into the extraordinary.
